Tecovas Boots

Anybody else here on hotboots have a pair of Tecovas boots? I've fallen for some of their suede/roughout boots called the "Shane" and have gotten several compliments. They require almost no break in since the leather is so soft and the company claims they are waterproof, of which I haven't tested or worn out in very wet weather because in Pueblo CO, where I live, it doesn't get much wet weather. Just curious about other bootmen's thoughts or experiences with the company and their boots. Here are a couple pairs I have, the mocha colored Shane boots and their granite colored Shane boots.

  • They look really smart, and some people on the facebook group have commented they like the ones they have purchased. I suspect they are water/rain resistant not waterproof. For me, they are just not my style. I prefer a classic buckaroo but that’s just me.

  • @ORCowboy52 Thanks for your compliment. I have yet to spot some guy in real life wearing a pair, only seen them online, unfortunately.

  • I have two pair of Tecovas: The black Earl roper, and the caramel-colored ostrich Duke cowboy with rounded toe. Both are excellent in quality and priced for my budget. I have outgrown the hardly worn roper at a 10.5D, but the ostrich fits perfectly now at 11E. I covet next a pair of the roughouts but, unfortunately, they don't ship to Hawaii so I have to wait and have them delivered to a mainland relative's when I am there. Don't hesitate to go with the company....they make high quality boots that an ordinary guy can afford.
