Boots and Breeches

In 1960, a year after I started riding, I got my first pair of leather breeches. That purchase started a connection with Langlitz Leathers that continues to this day. Leather, unlike fabrics, does not stretch very much. If the knees are cut too tightly you cannot bend comfortably when in the saddle. Your breeches will then be good only for S&M;, that is - Standing and Modeling! Here is my first pair cut by Ross Langlitz himself in 1960 - a bit tight, but still okay for wearing in the saddle! Here you see me wearing them with my Dehner dress boots.
Forty years later, and a few pounds heavier, I got a new pair that look much like the first ones. The additional room is very nice. I'm wearing Wesco 20-inch Boss boots in this photo.
You may be shocked, but I sometimes like to wear BROWN leathers! These tan leather breeches are from the early '70s. With them I am wearing brown 17-inch Frye Campus boots, also from the '70s. Remember those big, chunky heels?
My '03 Harley V-Rod is silver and black. So my newest leather breeches are a pretty good match in light gray with a black stripe. I got 'em in June '04, forty-four years after my first pair! Here they are with my Dehner dress boots. Life rumbles on!
